It is House of HR’s strong belief that we as humans must continue to develop our creative, communicative, social, and critical thinking skills to stay ahead of Artificial Intelligence. Add a dash of craftsmanship and you have the recurring ingredients in all the AI-proof jobs from the list below!

1. Healthcare Professionals

Although the medical industry is at the forefront of technological innovation, human factors such as empathy and physical support remain crucial for almost every healthcare worker. Not to mention their knowledge and agility. The jobs of nurses, dentists, dermatologists, neurologists, and surgeons might be influenced by AI, but this will be in support of their job, not to replace their fantastic skills.

2. Skilled Tradespeople

Trades such as plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry are deeply hands-on. Every task is unique, given the vast array of situations and environments they encounter. The intricate knowledge and adaptability of crafts- and tradespeople make their tasks hard to automate.

3. Human Resources Professionals

Beyond recruitment and policymaking, HR is about understanding people, workplace dynamics, and organizational culture. It’s called ‘human’ and not ‘artificial’ resources for a reason.

4. Operations and IT managers

Ultimately, someone needs to manage all the technology in which AI is woven. At the technical level, that task falls to IT experts. The operations manager, in turn, is responsible for all process-related issues. Again, this is inherently about people-oriented processes.

5. Engineers, Construction Workers & Mechanics

Things still need to be engineered, built, and repaired. Although AI will lead to higher efficiency rates, automation, and simplification in the construction sector, most of the jobs will still need human implementation. The day that a robot will be able to build a house, is still very far away!

6. Creative Professionals

Professions such as writers, designers, choreographers, and filmmakers demand a unique blend of cultural understanding, personal expression, and emotional resonance. While AI tools can replicate patterns and even create art or music, genuine creativity remains elusive to algorithms.

7. Counselors & Therapists

The world of therapy and coaching is built on empathy, trust, and deep emotional understanding. AI can't replicate the nuanced human interactions that form the core of therapeutic relationships.

8. Policemen, Army Commanders & Firefighters

Laws still need to be enforced, peace keeping will need to be necessary and fires still need to be extinguished. Although in some situations it would be great to have the possibility to replace humans who must face dangerous situations, the impact of human presence is indispensable.

9. Educators, Teachers, Coaches & Trainers

The role of a teacher and coach isn't just about conveying information. It's about inspiring, mentoring, understanding individual needs, and shaping young minds. That requires natural intelligence!

10. Digital Marketers and Strategists

Digital marketing and strategy specialists revolve around plotting and implementing digital marketing campaigns. Successful advertising campaigns depend on a thorough comprehension of human behavior, feelings, and trends in the market. Although AI tools can increase efficiency, the very core of AI-proof jobs lies in the intricacy and individuality of strategies.

11. Hairstylists, Manicurists, Wellness-oriented jobs & Cooks

People still want to look good, feel relaxed, and eat great food.

12. Company leadership

Coming up with new corporate visions and strategies requires a certain degree of self-reflection. You can't just program these and then have them implemented automatically. Business leaders must be able to set their beacons and show leadership. We don't see artificial intelligence doing the latter yet!

It’s clear we humans don’t have to panic when it comes to losing our jobs because of AI. Yes, some jobs might be affected and changed, but we believe AI will create more jobs than it will destroy. The support, automation and convenience that it will bring in many jobs, will be welcomed by most of us as it will make the job easier and more enjoyable.
