HOHR to acquire Romanian HR-tech company ‘Happy Recruiter'
Belgium, Roeselare, 29 March 2019 – House of HR announces the takeover of the Romanian company Happy Recruiter, which markets the recruitment chatbot “Dora”.
Dora is a software robot which supports recruiters across the entire recruitment process. The robot searches automatically for suitable candidates on social media, contacts them, asks a list of pre-set questions and arranges online or real-life interview appointments between suitable, interested candidates and the hiring manager. If the candidate is not employed, the system immediately starts searching for replacements.
Dora, the recruitment robot, was launched in March 2018. After just one year, the system had succeeded in holding 277,217 interviews with candidates, based on the specifications supplied by recruiters. This resulted in 10,533 people being hired, a recruitment rate not far short of human recruiters’ performance. At the moment, Dora speaks English, Dutch and Romanian, with German to be added shortly.
“Dora was developed by experienced recruiters with the aim of taking over the time-consuming and routine parts of the recruitment process. It is definitely not the intention to replace recruiters with machines. Quite the reverse. We want to give them the opportunity to spend as much time as possible where their strength lies: recruiting the most suitable candidate for their company. If Dora can take the routine work off their hands, that’s fantastic,” says Rika Coppens, Group CEO House of HR. “Is it a threat to our own recruitment business in the long run? No, but the focus of our business could well change. We will be more our candidates’ guide and coach during their careers and our customers’ professional recruiter. We’re not afraid of innovation at House of HR. Quite the reverse. We embrace innovation and integrate it fully into our day-to-day processes. This is the only way for us to keep on being the best”.
Dora interviews candidates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whenever it suits them. At weekends, in the morning or at night. Appointments are scheduled and reminders sent. Just as a real recruiter would do. Even initial discussions about salary are possible. The whole process from contact to recruitment takes an average of five to six days, significantly less than in a conventional recruitment process.
Dora was set up by seven co-founders, each of whom has a background in recruitment and can show a spectacular record of achievement. More than 277,000 interviews have been held completely automatically. 10,533 of the people involved have been engaged by 657 recruiters operating in 21 countries. 46% of the hires were white-collar workers (office staff) and 53% were blue-collar workers (more technical professions).
The founders of Happy Recruiter are to speak at the international E-recruitment Congress which will be held on 7 June in Ghent.
