CIO at House of HR/Nowjobs?

House of HR? A leading HR service provider focused on Specialized Talent Solutions and Engineering & Consulting and a fast-growing multinational with a fierce entrepreneurial spirit operating through 10 PowerHouses, supported by digital brands and apps.

 

 

Nowjobs was founded in 2017 within the House of HR Group as a subsidiary of the 'PowerHouse' Accent, with the purpose of being a 100% digital temp agency. Since 2019, the company has been active in the Netherlands and as of 2021 also in France. In 2022, NOWJOBS started expanding to Germany, but they turned this decision around for the time-being because of prioritization needs. In 2023, NOWJOBS strengthened its presence in France after the merger with StaffMe.

How a regular day looks like as Chief Information Officer?

The CIO will lead the development organization within NOWJOBS (40 FTE), divided across 4 different teams, each consisting of:

 

 

  • Team Lead
  • Analyst
  • Developers
  • QA

 

Besides this, the CIO will be the direct report of 3 Technological Architects, who operate centrally within the development organization of Nowjobs.

 

 

The CIO will report directly to Wilbert Ingels, the Group CIO of House of HR and will report In dotted line to Jeroen Van de Broek, the CEO of Nowjobs.

 

 

Specific responsibilities

 

 

The CIO's primary objective will be to create the vision for the further development of IT programming framworks, Infrastructure & security, AI, and Agile practices and to make sure this Is embodied across the company.

 

 

He/she will be in charge of guiding the development team towards innovation and growth, as well as to align the vision for NOWJOBS from a development perspective with the business and product vision - in close collaboration with the Chief Product Owner and the Sales & Marketing Leads.

 

 

The tasks and responsibilities of the CIO include:

 

  • leading and managing a team (+/- 40 FTE), consisting of development, architects and QA. Coaching and motivating the team in order to facilitate continuous growth and improvement;
  • create a strategic long-term vision ensuring NOWJOBS remains the most user-friendly app and a leader in stakeholder experience and innovation;
  • serve as a guardian of Nowjobs' architecture and frameworks, ensuring seamless integration between the different components and multiple stakeholders;
  • Serve as a key figure in the integration and implementation of AI solutions and enhancing data structures;
  • will work closely together with the CPO in developing a product-driven culture and ensuring that technology and product development are seamlessly aligned;
  • maintain and enhance the application in terms of code quality, ensuring low number of bugs;
  • encourage and refine the team's Agile development practices, increasing velocity and experience and innovation.

And you are?

  • Has developed a business-critical application/end-to-end platform from A to Z, and has a  background in/passion for software development.
  • Has led an IT development organization in building and continuously improving a complex tailor-made platform-based platform.
  • Has proven ability in managing development teams, with a track record in Agile methodologies.
  • Has experience with working closely together with business and product teams and stimulating crosscollaboration and information-sharing with other teams in order to create product success.
  • Has a proven experience in innovating and optimizing digital products, including implementing AI solutions and enhancing data structures.
  • Has experience in a start-up or scale-up context, where the focus is on entrepreneurship and taking ownership.
  • Has experience with drawing up the vision and strategy for a technological product, including making the business case with regards to cost-management and ROI.
  • Experience as Scrum Master is highly favorable.
